About us
Autism Advocates in Action SG was founded by Renita Verner in May 2012.
Autism Advocates in Action SG was established in May 2012 by Renita Verner. Her journey began when her son was diagnosed with Autism in 2005, which ignited her determination not only to foster positive change within her own family but also to provide essential resources for other families in the community who were navigating similar challenges.
Renita stands alongside a dedicated Board, each with a unique and heartfelt story about their child on the autism spectrum. Together, we have formed a tightly-knit team driven by a shared mission.
As a 501(c)(3) grassroots organization, our fundamental purpose is to offer unwavering community support, particularly to low-income and underserved communities. Our commitment extends to serving individuals with diverse abilities by offering comprehensive state training and educational workshops tailored specifically for parents. Additionally, we curate enriching activities and annual events with the specific needs of families and individuals with autism at the forefront. Our programs are crafted to nurture education, champion diversity, cultivate social growth, and promote inclusion.
With every initiative, event, and program, our goal is to create a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of those we serve. We aspire to reach beyond the confines of our community, shedding light on a more inclusive and brighter future for all.
